Q. How can I keep food from sticking to my stainless steel?
A. Food sticking to steel pans is mostly due to heat mismanagement. Stainless steel is a healthy option for cookware but it takes little patience and practice to get used to it. Always, cook on low to medium heat. Also, season the pan if needed.
Q. How do I know when my pan is hot enough to start cooking?
A. As you're getting used to your pans, always begin with low to medium heat. After a few times, you'll be able to estimate when your pan is the right temperature.
There is a common trick called the "mercury ball water test", check it out online, it's a good test to check when the pan is ready!
Q. What are these white spots and how do I get rid of them?
A. Calcium is found in a lot of water supplies and can cause white spots on all stainless steel pots and pans. Boiling a mixture of 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water, letting it completely cool, then washing and drying as normal can help fix this. White spots can also be caused by not fully drying your pan after use.
Q. My pan has developed a rainbow color. Is it dangerous? How do I clean it?
A. The rainbow stain on stainless steel is what we call "heat tint", it is well known in the industry and it's not dangerous. It can happen with any stainless steel pans. Stainless steel contains a small amount of chromium in it to help resist corrosion and rusting. When chromium and air mix, a protective layer is formed on your pan. Basically, when stainless steel is heated to high temperatures, the oxidized layer can thicken, causing a rainbow tint. Removing it is easy, just dilute Bar Keeper’s Friend with white vinegar and rub it off with a sponge.
Q. My kiddo distracted me and I accidentally burnt food in the pan. How do I clean the stubborn black mark that's left?
A. Yeah, black marks or residue can be stubborn. Barkeepers friend is very useful in many such cases. You can also use Vinegar and water in equal portion and boil it in the pan for some time. Let it cool and clean it with a sponge. It should go with one or two tries.
Q. Are your pans very light?
A. No, our pans with capsule bottom (tri-ply bottom) are not too light and not too heavy. We spend lot of time in studying to design them in such a way that they are easy enough to use everyday. The pans are still high quality 18/10 stainless steel, we just designed them with the right thickness to maintain the quality and ease of everyday use.
